What are the differences between normal and active membership?

As a normal member, you will have access to the Learning Sessions, corporate as well as social events.

Additionally, becoming a normal member is the requirement for being able to apply for Active Membership and the Board.

Is there an application process to become a Member of the Club?

Yes, but not in the sense that there is an interview. You will only have to fill out the Membership Form.

Becoming an Active Member however requires that you are already a Member.

How much does the membership cost? Is it per year or per semester?

The Membership costs 20€ and will be collected every semester.

Can I join the learning sessions if I am not a Member of the Club?

The first session is always open for all, but after that you will have to become a Member.

Does it make sense to attend the Learning Sessions without having prior coding knowledge?

Yes, the first two weeks are oriented for first semesters with no knowledge of the relevant field of the Learning Sessions for that semester.

Can I attend to the Learning Sessions of only Quant or only PM/only PE or only PD?

Technically yes, but you would still be writing the exam for both as they are a combined module.

Will I be able to attend the Learning Sessions without taking the exam at the end?

Yes, the exam is optional as they are challenging and require time and effort that not all students are willing to commit. However, keep in mind that passing our exam entitles you to a certificate co-signed by our department-corresponding industry partners, which adds an additional layer of quality assurance and prestige to your knowledge. We are also only able to offer you a seat at the Meritocracy if you pass an exam.

What kinds of events do you organize?

We organize corporate events and invite guest speakers focused mainly on hedge fund strategies and topics relevant to the particular module of the semester. On the side, we also have social events and get-togethers within the Club.
